

She spread her wings and flew away with the angels that called for her that day. God opened Heaven's door, her pain and struggles are no more.
Our dearest Irene: A new beginning starts for you. You will be missed, yes, this is true. But this goodbye is not forever, someday soon we will be together. So save a place for us up there, a dance upon the clouds we'll share. Your love will keep us going. Your laugh will get us through. In our hearts you'll always stay, the memory of you shall never fade; a promise that we make to you.
Irene was born April 4, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Trinidad and Josefa Arriola. A Travis High School Rebel, avid churchgoer and blossoming butterfly, Irene's strong will and spirited personality contributed to her life as an affectionate Mom, Mema, Daughter, Sissy, Aunt, and Friend.
There are not enough words to describe just how important Irene was to those she touched and what a powerful influence she'll continue to be….
Irene is preceded in death by her father, Trinidad Arriola.
Irene is survived by her mother, Josefa; siblings, Tony, Joe, Manuel, Robert, Richard, Mary, Janie, Annie, Terri, Rosie, Elaine, Lupe, and Yolanda; sons, Andrew John and Eric James Valdez; grandchildren, Tatyana, Anthony, Christopher, Dezlynn, Eric Jr, Phillip, Akayla and Andric.
Irene's "Celebration of Life" will be held in the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing will be May 2, 2014 from 6pm to 9pm and funeral service May 3, 2014 at 2pm followed by the burial at Assumption Cemetery.
Honoring Irene and serving as Pallbearers, nephews – Ronnie Ugalde, Manuel A. Arriola, Stephen Sosa, Bobby J. Diaz Jr, Joe Guerra Jr. and Ralph Barrera.
The family gives special thanks for all the support and care given to Irene during her final years of life. We welcome all to share memories of Irene on the online memory book.
