Irene B. (Asper) Hurd, 96 died December 12, 2014. She was born in Adams, MN in 1918, one of 12 siblings. She married Harlan F. Hurd in November 1943 in Las Vegas, NV. While moving around the world as an air force wife, she had four daughters.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harlan; daughters, Barbara and Maureen.
Irene is survived by daughters, Susan Marie, Irene Lee; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Myron Asper; and very special friend of over 50 years, Marjorie (Tiny) Leach.
Irene enjoyed the rides to Tiny's ranch where she had her favorite cow "68", who would come up to the truck window and Irene would feed her "cookies" that "68" accepted gently from her hand. She was a devoted mother, friend and a wonderful cook and homemaker. She will be missed by all that knew her.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue, with Funeral Service to begin at 7:00 pm. Interment will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
