Iris Elaine Lyon

Our beloved mother, Iris Lyon, departed Sunday, the 20th day of June 2011 to be with our Lord.

Iris is held in cherished memory by those who survived her: daughters, Elaine Ginn and Cathy Holmes; son Clayton Lyon; sons-in-law, William Ginn Jr. and Evan Michael Holmes; daughters-in-law, Dorthy Lyon and Sherri Lyon. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who call her “Peto” are Johnny Lyon, wife Misty (their daughter Lily), Julie Lyon, Selina Lyon (her children; MegAnn and Nicholas), Vincent Schneider, wife Rebecca (their children; Gabriel, Stephen and Rachel), Derek Schneider, wife Lisa (their children, David and Molly) and Sean Lyon (son of Sherri and Steven). She is also survived by much loved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Milton H. Lyon, her son, Steven Lyon; her grandsons, Micah Steven and Thomas Quinten, the infant twin sons of Steven and Sherri Lyon. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Friday, the 24th of June, from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening at Cook-Walden Funeral Home; 6100 North Lamar Blvd Austin TX. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, the 25thof June at eleven o’clock in the morning in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden; 6100 North Lamar Blvd Austin TX, with the Rev. Mike Fizzell, officiating. Interment will be conducted at Cook-Walden Capital Park 14501 North IH 35 Pflugerville TX. The family thanks Hospice Austin for providing our mother with kind and tender care during the sweet time before her passing. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to Hospice Austin.
