

Following a long illness Dr. Jack Armond Hill, orthodontist and veteran of the U.S. Air Force, died October 22, 2011, at the age of 82. During his 45 year practice beginning in Austin, Dr. Hill treated two generations of patients with skill and dedication and was active in Travis County and State Dental Associations pursuing programs and legislation to improve dental health. He retired in 2004.
Dr. Hill was born November 4, 1928 in Marked Tree, Arkansas to Rev. David L. Hill and Lorene Dearing Hill. He graduated from high school in Corinth, Mississippi, received a Master of Science degree at the University of Mississippi, a Bachelor of Science degree at Baylor School of Dentistry followed by Doctor of Dental Science Degree at the University of Tennessee College of Orthodontics.
His practice began in Austin in 1959, six years after marrying Evelyn Oglesby of San Angelo, Texas. They met while serving as counselors at a summer camp in Wisconsin.
As a member of the Ole Miss Football Team he continued for many years his involvement in sports including golf, tennis and hunting. He had a special attraction to his bevy of bird dogs who accompanied him on many a South Texas quail hunt. Jack was a member of the Austin Country Club and Tarry House where he served as President in its formative years and remained a member of the Executive Committee.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Dan and Wallace Hill. Survivors are his wife Evie; his sister Jean Hill Bush; daughters Cynthia Hill Trigg and Rebecca Hill Biehunko; sons in law Fisher Trigg and Terry Biehunko; grandchildren Rachel Walton, Andrew Walton, Jack Biehunko, Elizabeth Biehunko and Sarah Biehunko.
Jack was a lifelong Christian and member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Austin.
Services will be Thursday, October 27, 2:00 p.m., at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church with Rev. Morgan Allen officiating.
