Jack moved to Austin with his wife, Karon of 54 years, in 2013 from Houston, Texas, where he grew up. Jack attended Spring Branch High School and served three years in the Army after graduation. He served two of those years in Germany. For most of his career, he worked as a Service Representative for Monroe Calculators, and Bell and Howell. He was known by his friends, neighbors and family as the man who could fix anything. Jack often spent hours a day visiting with friends and helping them with their electronics. He was a family man who loved to sing in the church choir, first at Gulfway Baptist Church and Easthaven Baptist Church, and later in life, in the Senior Choir at Jersey Village Baptist Church on Houston’s northwest side, and most recently in the Senior Choir at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Austin.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Robert David Sr and Emegrace Rusch and his brother Robert Rusch Jr. Jack is survived by his wife, Karon Rusch and 3 grown children: Donna Rusch Beisel and husband Craig Beisel of Los Angeles, David Rusch and his wife Denise of Round Rock and Paul Rusch and his wife Marina of Austin. He also has 7 grandchildren: Kinsey, Lauren, Garrett, Peyton, Faith, Rachel and Alex.
The family wishes to thank House of Friends at Bethany Methodist Church and Saint Thomas Moore Catholic Church, as well as Hearthstone Senior Care Center for the compassionate care given to Jack.
A Memorial Service is being held on Tuesday, January 12th at 1:30pm at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3838 Steck Ave., Austin, TX. 78759. Visitation begins at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Hillcrest Baptist Church.
