William Jackson Cantrell was born June 29, 1995 in Carrollton, Texas to Craig and Mary Cantrell and passed away on April 26, 2021. He is survived by his parents Mary and Craig Cantrell, sister Mallory Cantrell, his beloved dog Maya and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jackson graduated from Westlake High School in 2014 and then went on to earn his Business degree from St. Edwards University in 2019. When not studying, he loved to play rugby for the St. Edwards team where he made a wealth of friends. Anywhere Jackson went he seemed to attract friends, like his mother, the charismatic young man never met a stranger. A fresh college graduate, Jackson was quickly ascending the business world at Dropoff as an account manager.
Jackson enjoyed traveling with his family and friends to places throughout the Caribbean, Fiji and Costa Rica, anywhere he could be shirtless. He was an avid athlete that skied, snowboarded, biked, participated in motocross with his father, and ran daily. He made the most out of every minute and was sure to get a few reps in between business calls or when he had some down time. His dedication to his health inspired his friends and family daily. He participated in the Austin half marathon before his passing and finished in an impressive 1 hour and 56 minutes.
An Austinite through-and-through, Jackson was a lover of all live music and could be found at ACL, SXSW and local venues regularly. He loved to bring people together and would never hesitate to invite someone to join his group to go out and have fun. A friend to all, he filled his family home with friends, much to his parents’ delight. They spent countless nights hanging out on the back porch, telling stories, busting jokes with his father, and lovingly teasing his mother.
Jackson was a dearly loved son, brother, cousin, friend, dog dad and leaves behind a myriad of funny stories, a wealth of fun and an unimaginable amount of love from friends and family. He was taken much too soon and will be forever loved and missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.
