James D. Blackwell, 58, of Austin TX died on October 28, 2013 at his home. He was born September 26, 1955 to Wayne and Shirley Cherry in Hastings, NE. JD was a big fan of country music and made his career for many years playing the music he loved. When touring was no longer an option, he returned to his career in the machine shop. He enjoyed working at Athena Manufacturing and advanced from the machine floor to become the director of their IT department. When not at work, JD enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog.
JD is preceded in death by his father Wayne Cherry, his mother Shirley Sidlo, and his sister Jeanie Vilca. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Blackwell, and step-daughter, Tyne Pratt.
