My wife and I met James on Halloween 2021. James had moved in next door. We set up a table on our driveway with candy for trick-or-treaters. James  joined us. We enjoyed meeting and visiting with him. We think about James every Halloween.

I wanted to share my condolences with James’ family. The video tribute with all the photos and beach scenes was beautiful. I just learned of his passing so hope it was ok to share with classmates from South Pasadena High School who remember him fondly. He was a great water polo player and always had a big smile around campus. Gone too soon but not forgotten - RIP James. 

Just one of thousands of daily text banters from James: "got back from going out to dinner with mom and dad. I got the old man pretty good. I ordered a pizza that came on one of those lifted trays. He told me to be careful with it as he steadied the dish while I boxed the leftovers. I told him it wasn't going anywhere and then pushed it real quick his direction like I was going to knock it on him. He jumped and knew I fooled him. Rolled his eyes at me as my mom broke into laughter. We went to BJs brew house so they just got done eating their to go poozookie at home. With ice cream. I'm going to spend the night and watch the bb game with them. Bisket is acting like a baby

I miss my best Friend in life, "Jaime B.3".  HE was an incredible being who I dearly loved and will forever be missing him.  God has plans and I will continue to talk James, knowing that his spirit is amongst us.

We are already missing  James.  He was a part of our family. We celebrated Thanksgiving, summer beach vacations, winter skiing vacations, Christmas,  weddings, arrival of new family members, card games, football, and even an Easter egg hunt or two with him. Now there will be an empty place setting or chair without James.

We are grieving the loss of James as we are on a pilgrimage with 40 other Christians in Italy. James has been prayed for at the Vatican, St. Paul's, and a host of other religious sites by many of us here. James was a Christian and we know that we will again be with James.

We want to keep the memories of James alive forever. He was part of the fabric of our family. Our family's future will be missing a piece which made us the family we were, but we will certainly remember, laugh, and maybe even cry a bit, but never forget James.

Sending love and prayers up as the tears continue to fall... Uncle Jim, I love you. I pray that that somehow God gives beauty for ashes, as he has promised to do… know that you are deeply loved and James is deeply missed by family close and far. 
 James has a wonderful smile. I remember connecting with him in Hawaii on a visit while he was there. I remember his smile and the warmth it held, how it shows his kind spirit…  holding these memories close as the tears fall… sending prayers of love and support.

Years ago I met James while he was staying at his uncle’s coffee farm “Sacred Grounds Coffee Farm”  on the big island. We hit it off immediately! Him and I both being followers of Jesus and sports fans too boot! We actually became good friends over the years talking over the phone about his beloved USC Trojans during  football season, and me being a Oregon Duck fan I’d pick on his Trojans. 😁 We had some good laughs about that. James knew I’m a grilling meat 🥩 nut and how I bragged about my Big Green Egg! He ended up getting one! We also talked about the dark times in his life, the alcohol abuse and his mental illness problems, but we also always brought it back to the Lord Jesus Christ. James had issues, some  large issues, but I believe he loved the Lord. And I rest on that. And it saddens me too knowing what he did and how it affects his immediate family and those of us who love him. But I’m gonna tell you this right now, I’m so happy I knew James, and someday (hopefully soon) I’m gonna see him again. That’s gonna be a joyous and glorious reunion! Praise God for that!

I am so utterly sorry to hear about James and I send my deepest condolences to your family. I remember him as a young boy, and then, in 2021, he and I enjoyed a long and lively exchange of emails, discussing interesting issues of the day. We wrote back and forth about culture, race, and other important topics. I was glad to connect with him in that way. I went back and read those emails the other day to honor him.
