

James Lawrence Goode died unexpectedly on September 20, 2009. Jamie was a freshman at Austin High School at the time of his death. Previously, he attended St. Andrew's Episcopal School. Jamie was born and raised in Austin, and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd where he served as an acolyte. The youngest of three children, Jamie was born on June 9, 1995. He loved his family and was deeply loved by them. Jamie is survived by his parents, Kate and Steve Goode; his brother, Harlan, and sister, Anne; and his grandparents, Hy and Charlotte Goode of West Palm Beach, Florida. Other devoted family members include his great aunt, Dodgie Shaffer, of Montgomery, Alabama and his aunt, Carolyn Llorens, her husband Hector, and their children, John and Henry of Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carolyn and Edward Jordan. Jamie was a proud member of the Austin High Freshman Football Team. He attended Camp Longhorn for seven years, and was a Favorite in his last summer. He loved Longhorn football, overnights in the backhouse with good friends, traveling with his family, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, and movies. Jamie's open heart, his gentle and loving nature, and his infectious sense of humor endeared him to his family, teachers, neighbors, and many friends. He adored his brother, Harlan and his sister, Anne. The funeral service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Austin, Texas, on Wednesday, September 23 at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will follow. Acolytes will be Ben Clements, Preston Marchbanks, Andrew Murray, and Cameron Osborn. Pallbearers will be Treeman Baker, Reid Gallagher, Connor Johnstone, Parker Kell, Ben Klatt, Alex Levy, David Martin, Nick Osella, Nick Ribb, and Charles Schneider. A scholarship fund is being established in Jamie's memory to benefit a student at Austin High School. Donations may be sent to Austin Community Foundation, 4315 Guadalupe #300, Austin, TX 78751.
