

James E. Marshall was born on July 4, 1936 to Cornelius and Christine Marshall. James (“Red” as he was affectionately called by many) attended public school in Seguin, Texas and graduated from Ball High School. At an early age he accepted Christ and joined Wesley Harper United Methodist Church.
James married Mildred Holland Marshall and to that marriage one child Joyce Elaine Marshall was born. Soon after the birth of his child, James joined the United States Air Force where he served until, he received an honorable discharge in 1976. He served his Country well and was a proud Veteran, serving two tours in Viet Nam.
After retirement James had another long and great career working for Sears Automotive where he was a manager. He loved life, his girls, his family, fishing, hunting and people. He was devoted to his daughter and granddaughter and so very proud of their accomplishments. Anyone who knew him knew he would always be there to assist if you needed him. He joined St. Peters United Methodist Church and served as a Lay Leader under many pastors and was proud of his work in the church and became famous for his pancakes at the yearly United Methodist Men Pancake sale. St. Peters is where he met and married his wife Imogene Schuler Marshall.
He faced many health challenges in his later years and fought through many painful days until the end trying not to be a burden to anyone. His infectious smile and laughter will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents Cornelius Marshall, Christine Marshall, and his stepmother Hattie Marshall, 4 sisters Vera Fyles, Doris Norris, Marva Robinson, and Delores Alexander, and 4 brothers, Charles Marshall, Donald Marshall, Jesse Alexander, and Jeff Alexander.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Imogene C. Marshall, daughter Judge Joyce Elaine Marshall Augustine, Granddaughter Attorney Janikka Bratton, son-in-law Officer Stephen Augustine, step daughters and sons Debra Snow (John), Karen Shaw (Hughie), Rev. David Schuler (Lula), Colleen Schuler, and Rev. Bryan Schuler, a brother George Marshall and a host of nieces, nephews, step grand and great grandkids relatives and friends.
