

James Conrad (J.C.) Kirschner JC died on December 15, 2003, in Austin, Texas. He was born to Robert W. and Lily May Kirschner on January 25, 1919 in Austin, Texas. He and his father, Robert, owned and operated Kirschners Café on Burnet Road for many years. He also worked for the Texas Highway Department Motor Vehicle Division until retirement. JC served in the 36th Infantry Division during WWII and saw action in Sicily, North Africa and Europe. He landed in Normandy on D-Day. He stayed in the National Guard until retirement. He was a Mason and a Shriner of Ben Hur Shrine for 53 years. He was a member of Koenig Lane Christian Church. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Heallen Kirschner, two sons, Jimmy, his wife Ann and their two daughters, Stephanie and Kelly of Austin, Tim, his wife Sue and their two sons, Andrew and Michael of Fairview Park, Ohio. He is also survived by sisters Rosalee Mayes, Dorothy Burnup and husband George, and by sister-in-law, Joy Kirschner, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 18, 2003 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
