

SSGT. James T. Parsons Jr., 82, U.S. Army (Retired), having served over 50 years in the Government of the United States of America, passed away on Wednesday, May 4th, 2011. Having spent the past 40 years in Heidelberg, Germany, he was born in Baltimore Maryland, and during his first tour of duty to Germany met the love of his life, and wife of 57 years Ingeborg Weimar Parsons.
After serving 23 years with the U.S. Army, he continued his career with the Department of Defense for 30 years, retiring in 2010. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the VFW Lodge 9845, and the Masonic Lodge, in Heidelberg Germany, where he received numerous awards.
Mr. Parsons is survived by his wife, Ingeborg Parsons, his son Michael Parsons, and wife Jonell of Austin, Texas, his son Mark Parsons, and wife Astrid of Dallas, Texas, step-brother Norris Allen and wife Carole and family of Indianapolis, Indiana, step-brother Douglas Allen and wife Brenda and family, of Baltimore, Maryland, and grandchildren Eric, Sarah, Whitney, and Isaac Matthew.
The Family of James T. Parsons would like to give their heartfelt thanks to his extended family and friends in Heidelberg, Germany for all of their help in his time of need. Words cannot express the gratitude for all that was done. We would also like to thank the staff of Brodie Ranch Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for the care given during his illness.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, May 9th, 2011, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 State Highway 195, Killeen, Texas 76542-4945.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion, VFW, or Masonic Lodge of your choice.
