Janet K. Matthews

On the 16th day of May, 2025, Janet Katherine Linn Matthews passed away to be with her Lord and Savior. She was a Christian and born to Carmen Louise Londott Linn and Russell Jay Linn on January 29, 1938. She was an only child and is preceded in death by her husband, John Laurine Matthews of 58 years and two children, John Alan and Timothy Jay Norman Matthews. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lynn Matthews, nieces and nephews, daughter-in-law Eda Matthews, grandchildren, Sibel Demiralp and Alan Haynes and his wife Julia, along with their children Timothy, Melody, and Shiloh. Her love of family was so important to her. She showed and bred Silky Terriers and had several champions. She worked for 15 years at IBM, enjoyed doing ceramics, collecting Precious Moments figurines and was always ready to go on cruises with her husband, family and friends as often as possible. She will be laid to rest next to her husband.

A visitation for Janet will be held Friday, May 23, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas 78749. A graveside service will occur Friday, May 23, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 W William Cannon Dr, Austin, TX 78749.
