Jean McCune, beloved sister, mother and grandmother, passed away December 29, 2010 in Austin, Texas at the age of 77.
Born June 13, 1933 in Dumas, Texas, Jean later moved to Austin where she raised her family and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the Hill Country. Friends and family treasured Jean’s spirited personality and open-hearted nature. Her loyalty and devotion were unwavering.
Mrs. McCune is predeceased by her husband, Richard McCune; parents, James and Violet Pistole; a brother, James Pistole, and a sister, Shirley (Pistole) Lee. She is survived by her sister, Violet (Pistole) Legg & husband Bobby Legg of Mississippi; her daughters, Patricia Taylor of Austin and Toni Wilcox & husband, Mike Shea of Austin; grandchildren, Amanda (Taylor) Fountain & husband, Ryan Fountain, Michael Taylor, Dylan Taylor, Connor Shea, and Mason Shea; and stepsons, Gavin McCune and Michael McCune of California; as well as, many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members.
A memorial service remembering Mrs. McCune will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2011, at Cook-Walden/Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home on Anderson Mill Road.
