

Jesse Carrasco Ruedas, 72, of Austin, Texas passed away, Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at St. David’s South Austin Medical Center. He was born on April 2, 1948 in Austin, Texas to Jose and Santos Ruedas. He loved spending time with his son, Anthony and his daughters, Yvonne, Nannette and Yvette, friends and his dog, Toby. He also loved being around his grandkids, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed going to church, gathering with friends and family for special occasions and gambling trips with his wife, Frances and their friends. In his spare time he loved to help organize his family food booth at the Fiesta Amistad in Round Rock where he would prepare and sell snow cones, fajita tacos and sausage wraps. Jesse and Frances both loved to dance and listen to Tejano music. Jesse and Frances were married on April 2, 1989 and have been married for 32 years. Jesse worked for the University of Texas in the food service department and enjoyed his work until his retirement.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Santos Ruedas; brothers and sisters Joaquina Nieto, Jose Ruedas, Dominga Avalos, Felis Tello, Pedro Ruedas, Gregorio "George" Ruedas and Richard Ruedas.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Frances T. Ruedas; children, Yvonne Barber (Jeff), Anthony Ruedas Sr. (Jennifer), Yvette Ruedas (Eddie), Nannette Salazar (Felix); step-children, Sheila Ramos (Richard), Sophie “Elaine” Ramos, Ruben Ramos (Denise), Mark Ramos (Melodie); twenty three grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; siblings, Santos “Sandra” Degollado, Maria “Mary” Fabian, Reyes Ruedas, Jose Angel Ruedas, Teresa “Terri” Costilla.
The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, concern and kindness shown to them during this hour of bereavement. May God Bless You, The Ruedas Family.
Honoring Jesse and serving as Pallbearers will be Anthony Ruedas, Sr., John Garza, Jeremy Garza, Chris Vasquez, Pete Fabian, and Stephen Fabian.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Mass to follow at 11:30 am with Reverend John Dougherty CSC presiding.
