Jo Maxine Moore

Jo Maxine “Mac” Moore, 76, of Austin, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. She was born on October 7, 1935 in Austin, Texas to Ira James Boatright and Ura Bell Calhoun Boatright. Mac lived in Portland for 21 years and returned to Austin in 1989. Upon her retirement from AT&T in 1989, Mac managed the household affairs and became very active supporting her favorite Republican candidates along with special friends, Erma and Margaret. Mac and her Mother, Ura, volunteered at South Austin Hospital for 12 very rewarding years.

Mac was the family rock. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a den mother, team mom, and her family’s greatest fan. She never missed a game. Her grandchildren, Buck, Nathan, Kelsie, and Natasha were the lights of her life. “Mema Mac’s” house was always a favorite destination. Mac was a very supportive and positive influence in all our lives and was quick to correct us when necessary.

Mac will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 53 years, Bobby Moore; sons, Bobby Moore, Jr. and wife, Chris and Nathan Jay Moore; four grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Marcha Austin and husband, Harold; sister-in-law, Susanne Boatright; brother-in-law, Joe Moore; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She will always be on our minds and forever in our hearts.
