Joe Long Pratt

JOE LONG PRATT Joe Long Pratt, age 95, died Monday, May 3, 2004. He had been a resident of Austin for five years. Born in Paris, Texas, on August 20, 1908, to George Hagy Pratt, Sr. and Rheuanna Long Pratt, he enjoyed a long career exceeding fifty years working for Pioneer Natural Gas Company and its predecessor, Amarillo Oil Company, retiring as Controller in 1973. Joe and his deceased wife, Helen, were married for 60 years. They were longtime residents of Amarillo, Texas. He is survived by his daughter, Joan Pratt Snodgrass and husband, Roy Cleveland Snodgrass III; son, Joe Nicholas Pratt and wife, Mary Brady Pratt; granddaughter, Brannon Snodgrass Smith and husband, Lathrop Winchester Smith III; grandsons, Roy Cleveland Snodgrass IV, Nicholas Long Pratt, David Michael Pratt and Joe Brady Pratt; and great-granddaughter, Dorothy Ann Smith. The family is deeply grateful to Carolyn Kelly for the loving care she provided Joe during the last year of his life.
