

John was born on June 22, 1926, in Fort Worth, Texas. His family moved to Texarkana, Arkansas in1932, where he graduated from Arkansas Senior High School in 1944. After graduation, he joined the selective V-12 Navy College Training Program at Southwestern Louisiana Institute and the University of Texas. John was then admitted to the United States Naval Academy where he graduated in 1950 and was commissioned in the United States Navy. After earning his pilot’s wings, he flew some of the first jets off of aircraft carriers during the Korean War. He departed the Navy in 1956, and settled in Shreveport, Louisiana where he began a career as an engineer with Exxon Pipeline Company. John was transferred to Houston, Texas in 1962, after which the family had the opportunity to live in Switzerland, the Netherlands, and England before returning to Houston in 1970. One of his significant accomplishments during the seventies was his design work on the Alyeska pipeline in Alaska. He retired to Lakeway, Texas in 1986, where he was a member of the Emmaus Catholic Church.
John was a strong believer in education and continued to study and learn his entire life. In his retirement years, he mastered golf, bridge and gardening and served on the POA Board at Lakeway.
John is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Reagan, brother Robert Reagan, and son, John H. Reagan, IV.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Reagan of Lakeway, Texas, brother; Kenneth Reagan and wife Rosemary of Muskogee, Oklahoma, sister; Gail Reagan of Dallas, Texas, sister-in-law, Alice Reagan of Carrollton, Texas, two sons; Brian Reagan and wife Natalie of Pearland, Texas, and Keith Reagan and wife Joanna of Bel Air, Maryland, six grandchildren; Sonya Brumley and husband Jason of Estancia, New Mexico, John H. Reagan V of Lubbock, Texas, Hunter and Hannah Reagan of Pearland, Texas, and Shane and Kayla Reagan of Bel Air, Maryland, and four great-grandchildren; Layne, Rye, Gage, and Emma Brumley of Estancia, New Mexico. He was a proud “Papa John” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015, at 6:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral home. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
