John Edward "Jack" Terry, 83, of Austin, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2007 at home. Jack was born January 2, 1924 in Kingsville, Texas to Ross and Lena DeMauri Terry. Jack married Rayma Dillingham on July 7, 1950 in Austin. Jack was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His passion was his family. He enjoyed bowling, all University of Texas sporting events, traveling, and had a great sense of humor. Jack graduated from Austin High School in 1942. During World War II he served in the South Pacific in the Navy. After serving his country he returned home and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1950. He spent over 35 years working as a liaison between the Texas Education Agency and school book publishers. He is survived by his loving wife Rayma, son John Dillingham Terry and wife Susan of Katy, daughter Rayma Lynne and husband Glenn Chase of Austin, and grandchildren Cameron Terry, Brandon Terry, and Alison Chase. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 22 from 6-8 PM at Weed Corley-Fish, 3125 North Lamar. Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Sunday, December 23 at University Avenue Church of Christ. Interment will follow at the Dillingham Cemetery in Briggs, Texas.
