Jorge Lara-Braud On Sunday, June 22, Jorge Lara-Braud passed away due to complications from Parkinson's disease. Jorge was the Lay Pastor at El Buen Pastor church and served on many area boards including Any Baby Can and Planned Parenthood. He was a liberation theologian and dreamed of bringing change and joy to a wounded and suffering world. He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Lara Shartle, his son, Jorge Luis Marroquin, his sister, Cachuy Maria de Jesus Espino, his stepdaughters, Greta Weisser and Kyria Sabin, and his seven grandchildren, Gina, Melissa, Clara, Xander, Maxwell, Ana Carla and Leela Cate. Services will be held at El Buen Pastor church, 1200 Willow, at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2008. A reception will immediately follow the service. Instead of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to either El Buen Pastor or the Pan American School in Kingsville, Texas.
