Josefa (Fita) Coronado

Josefa (Fita) Coronado, age 76, of Austin went to her Heavenly Father on Friday, December 11, 2015 at St. David's South Austin Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends. She is truly an angel now.

Fita was born August 21, 1939 in Raymondville, Texas, the daughter of Juan and Santos Sosa. She was formerly employed and retired from the Tarlton Law Library, University of Texas School of Law.

Fita is survived by her husband of 58 years, Josue Coronado; daughter, Deborah Howell; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Douglas Carnes; and son, Joseph Coronado, all of Austin. She is also survived by her grandsons, Michael Isaacson and Brian Howell and her grandson and his wife, Joseph and Gail Coronado. She was preceded in death by her son David Coronado, her son-in-law, Kenneth Howell and grandson, Alexander Howell. Fita is also survived by a large and loving extended family that includes sisters, brothers, and many nieces and nephews. She was a loving spouse, mother, and grandmother. Fita loved books and gardening, and she will always be remembered for her special meals, humor, grace, and patience.

Visitation will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress, Austin, Texas, on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
