

He was an accomplished violinist and composer. He served his country in the 4th Armored Division and was a dedicated desegregation advocate. Joe, Lindy and his mother owned Barta’s Pizza Village in Temple, TX and he was an orchestra teacher with the Temple Independent School District. To add to his many talents, Joe was a pioneer in creating videos for civil trial. Later he practiced real estate in Austin making life-long friends of his clients. Joe reinvented himself one more time as a computer scientist, working for Dell and founding Aberro.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Edl Barta, his sister-in-law Sandra Moseley and husband Frankie. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda (Lindy) Sue Raesz, his sister-in-law Kathryn Murrow and husband Wilburn, and many loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation with the family will be at Cook-Walden North Lamar, Wednesday, April 6th from 6-8 PM. Graveside services will be at the Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, Thursday, April 7th at 2:00 PM.
