

Born August 2, 1940, in Buffalo, New York to Bernard Cymerman and Mary Danielewicz. Joe went to be with his Lord and Savior in his own home in Austin, TX surrounded by his family and his beloved dog "Chuy" on August 17, 2013.
Friends are cordially invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with prayer vigil following at Weed- Corley- Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Ave, Austin.
A Mass celebrating his life will take place on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at 10:00 am St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill, Austin with reception following. Joe will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston Veteran Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer's Association-Capital of Texas Chapter.
Joe was married to Susana Calmet, who really believed in her vows of "in sickness and health" and took care of Joe in their home until the end. Susana believes that "love never fails" and felt that God put her here to take care of him in his time of need.
Growing up Joe was active in the Catholic Church and enjoyed Boy Scout activities. He served in the United States Coast Guard from August 1958 to July 1961. After leaving the Coast Guard, Joe began his career in medical sales for American Optical. His most recent Employer was McBain Instruments out of Chatsworth, CA.
Joe served in his community as a Eucharistic Minister and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. Joe loved God, his family, his friends, and his country. He was a kind man; a wonderful son, brother, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Joe was preceded in death by his father. Surviving him is his mother, Mary Cymerman, wife, Susana,
brothers Alex, Richard and Jack Cymerman, and ex-wife Jean Farley and daughters Catherine Trujillo and husband Lee, Elizabeth Appelman, Mary Bauer and husband Dr. Jeff Bauer, Susan Clifton and husband Scotty, and son Joseph Cymerman, Jr.; grandchildren Brandon McDaniel, Jeremy Bauer, Colton Bauer, Breanna Clifton, Brian Clifton, Cole Cymerman, Harris Cymerman and Karsin Cymerman.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Joe's caregivers: Deborah Rousseu, the staff of Odyssey Hospice of Austin for the love and tender care shown to Joe and the support for his wife: Mary, Deidra, Frances, John Vega, and John Bachelor, and the kind and compassionate support Danny (Life Made Easy Agency) provided to Susana and Joe.
