

Joyce Dixon Fowler, passed away on November 24, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on September 12, 1943, in Blackshear, Georgia, Joyce's life was one marked by generosity, artistry, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Joyce graduated from Blackshear High School before continuing her education at Georgia Southern University. Joyce's love for the arts was evident in her long-standing involvement with the Austin Symphony League, and a member of the Tarrytown United Methodist Church Choir for over 30 years, where she contributed her time and talents to bring the joy of music to others. She played an integral role as a Walk to Emmaus Coordinator, guiding many on their spiritual journeys with compassion and wisdom, as well as volunteering with a Food Pantry and taking part in Stephen’s Ministry.
Joyce's family was the centerpiece of her life, and she is survived by her devoted husband, Donald Fowler, and their loving children: Anna (Bobby) Askew, Lori (Ziad) Kussad, Lynn (Dan) Simoneau, Thomas (Leane) Fowler, and James Fowler. The legacy of her love is carried on by her 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as many cousins and extended family members.
A funeral service for Joyce will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin, Texas 78731. The service will be livestreamed on https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/c24129331596546.
