

Juan Cruz, age 67, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2026, in Austin, Texas, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on February 9, 1958, in Edinburgh, Texas, where his roots and values were firmly planted.
Juan was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from time spent with those he loved. He had a deep appreciation for travel and found happiness in exploring new places and cultures. In the kitchen, Juan expressed his love through cooking, often bringing family together around meals filled with warmth and laughter.
He was known for his generosity, quiet strength, and steady presence. Throughout his life, Juan faced challenges with resilience and grace, inspiring everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and his unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on in the memories he created and the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Juan is survived by his loving partner, Lydia Cruz; his children, Jennifer Arnold (partner Rob), Jeff Cruz (partner Karem), Jayson Cruz (partner Jeannie), and Iris Cruz (partner Ashley); nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Eva Lopez and Mary Ramirez, and his brother, Santos Cruz.
A gathering in remembrance will be held at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, located at 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas, 78749, United States. The gathering is scheduled for February 14, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
