

On February 8 in the Year of Our Lord 2010, Juanita Tomlinson Taylor, affectionately known to her friends as Tommy and to her family as Grandmother, passed away in Austin, Texas, after a long illness. She was born on November 10, 1915, in Ruston, Louisiana. Tommy graduated as a Registered Nurse from the school of nursing at Willis¬-Knighton Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana in 1937 and in 1938 married William D. Taylor, who predeceased her. She resided in Shreveport until 2002 when she moved to Texas to be near her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Crocker and husband Bill of Austin, Texas, her granddaughter, Cindy Asche and husband Fritz of Frisco, Texas, her grandson, Will Crocker and wife Ardis of Frisco, Texas, and six great grandchildren, David, Luke and Zachary Asche and Caroline, Claire and Cathryn Crocker. A long-time member of Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport, Tommy was guided and sustained by her faith in Christ and supported and encouraged by a legion of friends and fellow members of the church. She was involved in numerous ministries of the church, including foreign mission trips. Interment will be in Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport after a graveside service conducted by Dr. Tom Harrison of Broadmoor Baptist Church. Tommy's family is deeply grateful to Angel Heart Hospice and the staff of West Oaks Rehab and Healthcare Center for their dedicated and thoughtful care throughout the many months of her last illness.
