Karen Lynn Nicholas, age 54, of Buda Texas passed away November 30, 2025. She was born on March 10, 1971 to George and Elizabeth (Betty) Pitts in Kennewick, Washington. After many years of traveling on behalf of the military, her family settled in Texas where she established her adult life, career, and family. Karen graduated from Del Valle Highschool and while in attendance, she maintained a job at Texaco where she met her husband and partner of 32 years, Kevin, whom she is survived by, as well as their children: Michael and his wife Madeline, Paige, and Andrew.
Karen wore many hats over the years in her working career at the IRS, DPS, Cabelas, Walmart, and Dillards to name just a few. Though she enjoyed the challenges of facing the working world, her true passion could be found within the love she displayed for her family- at times taking years long hiatuses to both care for other ailing family, and selflessly supporting those when needed over supporting herself. She exemplified true compassion and love that showed no bounds.
Karen is preceded in death by her daughter: Amber Nicholas, Parents: George and Elizabeth (Betty) Pitts, In-laws: Oren and Mary Nicholas, and her Sister in-law: Stephanie Nicholas.
Along with her immediate family, Karen is survived by her brother: Brian Pitts and his wife Nikki, her Nephews: Nicholas Graham and Westley Pitts, and her support Puppy: Frank.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Davita Home Dialysis and her nurse Ashley, Carlos at NextStage, as well as to all of our family and friends who have shown any extra support over the last few years.
Memorial services will be held from 12 pm-2 pm at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 12 pm and services beginning at 1:00 pm.
