

Kathalyn Sue McDonald (ne: Fowler), age 84, of Austin died peacefully on February 8th, 2010, at Brighton Gardens in Austin. Sue spent much of her professional life as a realtor in Paris, Texas, before retiring to Austin to be near her son and his family. Sue loved life, people, and wild and domesticated animals. All who came in contact with her were drawn to Sue's engaging and captivating warmth. She was a kind and generous person who loved learning. Memories of her bright and genuine smile and her delicate and graceful manner sustain us in the grief of our deep loss. Sue is preceded in death by her husbands, Hub Baggett and R.D. McDonald, by her parents, Thell Boaz and Willie Fowler, by a brother and a sister, Thell Boaz Fowler, Jr. and Allie Miles, and by Allie's husband Curtis Miles and their two children, Mike Miles and Barbara Serres. Sue is survived by her devoted son, Terry McDonald, of Austin, his wife, Lana, and two grandchildren, Will and David McDonald, and their mother Ellen Jockusch. Sue is also survived by her companion and friend Vaughn Alexander, of Austin. Other loving family survivors include Sue's sister Dorothy Cooper, of Ropesville, Texas, and Dorothy's two children, Pamela Brown and Mark Cooper, and Sue's brother Bill Fowler and his wife Jean, of San Antonio, together with their three children, Severra Hudson, Willard Fowler, and Joan Fowler. The wife and two children of Sue's deceased brother also survive her -- Jessie Fowler and sons Robert Fowler and Thell Boaz Fowler, III. Many great nieces and nephews also survive Sue with fond memories of their beloved aunt. A private service for immediate family will be held at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery. The family wishes to express its deepest appreciation to the exceptional staff of Brighton Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Heart to Heart Hospice, Austin, Texas.
