Kathryn Wachs Russell

Kathryn Wachs Russell died Thursday morning June 4 at Seton Hospital. Kathryn was born November 25, 1936 in Omaha Nebraska to Edward and Elsie Kudrna. On September 24, 2005 Kathryn married Joel Russell. She was a proud graduate of the University of Texas with a business degree in 1986 and was a huge longhorn fan. A dancing diva, she was a lady with a very positive attitude. A great love for her friends and a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother She retired from the Texas insurance department after many years of loyal service where she helped establish the Texas Health Information, Counseling and Advocacy Program. Kathryn's work with older Texans took her to all areas of the state, where she made many friends. Survivors are her husband Joel, four daughters: Teresa Wachs, (Reno Nevada); Debbie Puder, (Longmont Colorado); Mary Joiner, (Grapevine Texas); and Nancy Herbert, (Austin Texas). She is also survived by two grandchildren Brandon Palmer and Shelby Herbert and two great Grandchildren; Grace and Glory Palmer. Visitation will be held between 6 and 8 p.m. Saturday June 6th at The Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 3125 North Lamar. Services will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church at 304 E. 7th Street at 2 p.m. Sunday June 7th. Memorial Gifts may be made to St. David's Episcopal Church or to a charity of your choice
