

Keith was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Gladys Loomans and brothers Ned and Lynn Loomans. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margie, his daughters Kim Tumulty and husband Tim, Laura Loomans and Mikie Loomans; granddaughter Brandy Veihl and husband Jason and their children Audrey, Lexi, Jason, Addisyn and Cole; grandson Travis Tumulty and wife Megan and their daughter Franciska; granddaughter Sara Sellers and husband Baine; sister Noreen Burton; brothers Lowell Loomans and wife Joan and Dale Loomans and wife Eunice; sisters-in-law Mary Loomans, Jane Loomans and Georgie Boyce and husband Bob along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Keith was baptized September 20, 1931 and confirmed March 11, 1945 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Portage, WI. He graduated from Portage High School and earned BS and MA degrees from Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, IL. In 1990 he was awarded an LLD by Concordia University Chicago (River Forest, IL). Upon graduation from Concordia in 1954, he became a Commissioned Minister in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) and served LCMS churches—Trinity Lutheran Church, Brownsville, TX, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Temple, TX and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mercedes, TX—as school principal, teacher, organist, choir director and youth director. In 1969 he joined the Parish Services Staff of the Texas District of the LCMS with responsibilities in education, youth, human care and worship. He also worked with national church staffs in each of these areas developing resources and services for the congregation and schools of the LCMS. Much of Keith’s work was with the Day Care Centers, Early Childhood Centers, Elementary and High Schools operated by LCMS congregations in Texas. He was among the organizers of the Texas Association of Non-public Schools (TANS) and the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC) and served as an officer in each. He was a member of Lutheran Education Association and, throughout his career, held membership in a number of public education associations. He was a member of the University Of Texas Phi Delta Kappa Chapter 12, serving twice as president of the chapter. In retirement, Keith led English as Second Language (ESL) classes in the Austin area.
Upon moving to Austin in 1969 the Loomans family became members of Hope Lutheran Church, and at the time of his death, Keith and Margie were members of Our Savior Lutheran Church. At these congregations, he faithfully shared his love for his Lord as an elder, and served on various boards and committees. Keith was a Bible student and an Adult Bible class leader.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o’clock until eight o’clock in the evening, on Monday, the 9th of February 2015, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752.
Funeral Services will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 10th of February 2015, at Our Savior Lutheran, 1513 East Yager Lane, Austin, Texas 78753.
