Kenneth Wilbert Kramer was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, quite unexpectedly. He had battled cancer courageously for over 4 ½ years only to succumb to an unrelated illness. He was 55 years old.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert (Inky) and Alice Kramer of Rosenberg, TX.
He is survived by Rhonda, his loving and devoted wife of 21 years. He is also survived by his son, Wesley Crawford, Jr. and wife, Wendi, as well as one grandson, Jake. Other survivors include his two brothers, Joe Kramer and wife, Kim of Smithville, TX, and Henry Kramer and wife, Jackie of Beasley, TX, and their son, Philip, as well as a host of brothers and sisters-in-law.
Ken loved everything outdoors. He was born and raised in Texas, where he spent a lot of time hunting and fishing with his dad and uncles, hobbies that he passed on to his son later in life. When he moved to Georgia in April 1987, one of his greatest desires was to buy his own piece of land. He and Rhonda accomplished this goal, and Ken was happiest when he was on his tractor mowing roads or plowing fields as he prepared for deer hunting season each fall. As co-owner of Copper Electric, Inc., he was an astute businessman who cared greatly for his employees and their well-being. He could be tough when necessary, but had a soft heart when it came to helping others. Often referred to as Mr. Ken or “the Big Guy”, he was a man of few words but he had a great sense of humor. Most recently, he was thrilled to welcome his first grandchild, Jake, into the world in February. Although Papa Ken only got to spend a short amount of time with Jake, a love was born between them that will never be forgotten. Ken was loved by many and will be greatly missed for years to come.
