

He married his wife of 54 years, Mary Whitaker, on 8 September 1966. His faith, family, and friends meant everything to him. He enjoyed reading, shooting sports, hunting, and fishing. He was always conversant on a wide range of subjects and enjoyed talking with everyone. He always saw the best in people and never walked away from someone in need.
Ken served in the Army National Guard but found his calling with the Austin Police Department. His Austin Police Department career started on 13 December 1965, lasting 30 years, until he retired as Deputy Chief on 28 September 1996. He was proud of his law enforcement service.
He was preceded in death by father, Raymond, mother Violet, and son Mike.
Ken is survived by his wife Mary; his son Randy Muennink, and his wife Monica. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Heather, Riley, and Molly and two great-grandchildren Bentley and Levi.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 2nd from 4:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, April 3rd at 10:00a.m. All services are to be held at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home at 6300 W. William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas 78749.
