Larry Dwayne Stewart

Larry was born on August 4, 1957 in West Palm Beach, Florida, the second child of Bobby C. and Peggy L. Stewart. Larry moved to Austin with his family in 1962. He attended Pleasant Hill Elementary, Fulmore Middle School and Crockett High School.

Larry was a member of the Southside Church of Christ. He was employed by the City of Austin’s Electric Department for many years before finally serving as an Arborist. Larry moved to California in the early part of the last decade where he continued to reside until his untimely death.

Larry is survived by his parents, Bobby and Peggy Stewart of Austin; brothers, Perry D. Stewart of Austin and Danny C. Stewart and wife, Phyllis of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; sister, Jana L. Barnes and husband, Steve of Buda, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives, friends and brethren. Larry was especially loved and devoted to a wide circle of very dear friends.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011 in the Chapel of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Colley of Capital City Church of Christ officiating. Larry was laid to rest in the Nature Garden of Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
