

Laura Gean Trimble Beloved wife, mother, grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of eleven, Laura Gean Trimble died on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at age 89. She was born to James Owen and Laura Hudspeth Simpson in Greenville, TX on September 22, 1918. "Simp," as she was called in her youth, was outgoing and active as well as trained on the violin. Gean completed her Bachelor of Science degree at East Texas State in Commerce in 1940. She married Harry B. Trimble, also of Greenville, on August 10, 1942. The family soon included three daughters, Suzan, Gean and Sally, and a son, Burt. Gean accompanied Harry as he served for 30 years in the U.S. Air Force with assignments all over the United States as well as Hawaii and, later, in the Philippines. Gean was a devout Christian learning, as she said, from life experiences "to draw closer to Christ daily." Upon his retirement, Harry and Gean moved to Lakeway, TX where they lived for 33 years enjoying the lake, tennis, travel and the company of dear friends and family. Gean was preceded in death by her parents, J.O. and Laura Simpson, her siblings: Mary Sue Gilpin, Maurine Peak and Owen Simpson, her husband, Harry B. Trimble, and her son, H. Burt Trimble. She is survived by her daughters, Suzan Eubank, Gean Oliphint and Sally Koster and their families. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, TX.
