LaVera Walton, our beloved "Bom Bom", born June 7, 1911 in Lindale, Texas passed quietly from this life to be with her heavenly father December 20, 2008. She is survived by daughter, Bebe Smith; daughter-in-law, Karen Peel; grandchildren, Debi Howden (Lynn), Matt Smith (Elizabeth) and Kristina Walton; great-grandchildren, Sarah Peters (Alan), Samuel Howden, Bethany Howden, Abby Howden, Lori Beth Sewell (Brent), Grace Eva Yeager, Emma and River Quarterman; and six great-great grandchildren. LaVera was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Walton. LaVera was a highly respected and creative florist owning the Downtown Flower Shop (in the Driscoll Hotel) and later Warren's Flower Shop for close to 40 years. She loved blessing others with her passion for flowers. She was a 55 year resident of the Rosedale neighborhood, living in the same house which she also truly enjoyed. LaVera leaves a legacy of love, integrity, strong Christian values and character. She was dearly loved by all her family and those who knew her. A special thanks for the tender care of Hospice Austin and Barton Hills Assisted Living. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24th at Austin Memorial Park.
