LaVerne Ann Petty

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James B. Petty; daughter Brenda Brumbelow and husband Richard; sister Joyce Wilbanks and husband Don; brother Chris Adams and wife Carol; son in law Jake Sullivan; grandsons Jarrett Sullivan, Brian Sullivan, Clayton Sullivan and Daniel Brumbelow. She was preceded in death by parents Henry and Mary D. Adams and her daughter Paula Sullivan.

LaVerne was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church for 60 years where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School in her younger years. She also thoroughly enjoyed her time as a volunteer at the "Old Bakery" in downtown Austin for several years.

LaVerne never knew a stranger and was extremely giving and caring. She was such a sweet person and had an unconditional love for everyone.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to St. John's Lutheran Church, Major Projects Fund, 409 W. Ben White Blvd. Austin, TX 78704.

As per LaVerne's wishes, there will be a graveside service for family and friends. The service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23 at Austin Memorial Park, 2800 Hancock Dr. Austin, TX.

The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Nicole Baker for her dedication and unending love while caring for LaVerne the past two years.
