Lida Ruth Dabbs

Lida (Ruth) Dabbs passed away peacefully at St David’s, with her children and their family’s by her side. She lost her earthly battle against a long illness on October 8, 2006, and was recalled to our lord and her husband’s side. Ruth was the younger of two daughters born to William and Eva Blagg of Hollis, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death, by her Father and Mother, and Sister, Oleta Bainer of Buda (whom passed on December 2005). Ruth was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie Dabbs, August 28, 2006. Ruth and Charles would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on September 22, 2006. Ruth and Charles were truly sole mates whom started their lives together in marriage at the end of WWII, and always said they would depart from this earthly world together, since their bond was so strong. Ruth is survived by her three loving children, Tim Dabbs, Sharon May, and Chuck Dabbs of Austin/Buda surrounding area; four grandchildren, Trina Walter, Wayne Dabbs, Randy Dabbs, and Rowdy May; and nine great-grandchildren. And her loving niece, Darlene Chaney and family of the surrounding area. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 12, and Friday, October 13, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 14, at Wilke-Clay-Fish, Chapel 2620 S. Congress, Austin, Texas.
