Mom,  Hard to believe its been 6 years since you passed.  They say time heals.   Not so much.   I miss you every single day.  As I grow older I continue to be in awe of your strength and perseverance.  Your character was beyond reproach.    We are not seeing very much "character" these days. I had the amazing privilege to work with Lili in Dallas for several years at President's Health Clubs.  Her charismatic and energetic personality was an absolute blessing.  Each day was an adventure, I can still hear her voice.  While I did not know her family or her personal life I do have some great memories of Lili with the life and times of working in a health club.  I am sure she was the center of her family and am so glad they had such a full life of memories with Lili.  your friend, Devon 

  The strongest woman I have ever known.  A woman who taught me strength, courage, compassion.  A woman who experienced some hard knocks in life but always saw life as a blessing.   A woman who never complained about anything in spite of those hard knocks.  A woman who always had a positive outlook and made those around her feel loved and important.   A woman always searching for the higher meaning of life.  A articulate, intelligent woman who could discuss any subject matter with knowlege and authority.   A voracious reader.  A woman who loved classical music.    A woman who reminded me that the toughest lessons are our greatest teachers.   A woman always aspiring to higher consciousness.   A woman who reminded us all not to cast judgement on others for we do not know their reality.    A woman with a great sense of humor.  A woman who loved to laugh and loved making others laugh. My friendship with her greatly enhanced my life.

Our Grandmother Lili Ann Besson is an amazing inspirational influence in life. Always saying "I'm your grandmother and my grandchild you will always be." I remember spending the summers with her during my younger years in Austin, Texas was like visiting Alice in the Looking Glass. I remember she would take me to Esther's Follies on 6th street to see, as she laughed ,"true comedy". Hippie Hallow, a clothing optional beach. She said it reminded her of home in France"people swimming free". She and I were always dressed though. She'd say "Oh, the body is art. But my time has pasted for such things and you are too young yet." So we wore suits..haa.  We'd also visit Barton Springs to swim in the bat caves that led to the waterfalls. We would explore along the river walk trying to find new cuisines like snail on toast, or emu burgers. Or "a good french onion soup", but nothing was as good as hers. Then, we would see the bats take flight from under Congress Ave Bridge. If you ever get to Austin, Texas this is a must do! She always was saying to me as a child, in her thick (La Rochelle ,France)French accent. "Oh my, Melissa, where should we discover today?" I would start to answer and she stop me saying" Ah,Ah, parler en français, il est léger." (Translated: Speak in french it is light.)

Her favorite animal is the humming bird. Like them, she too searches for the sweet things & enjoyment of life. If the hummingbird shows up in your life as a spirit animal, guide, it may remind you to enjoy life’s simple pleasures and take time to enjoy yourself. 
The hummingbird’s wisdom carries an invitation to take part in and draw to you life’s sweetness, like you would drink the nectar of your own flower.

To the Honor of Lili Anne Besson,  a wonderful mother, grandmother, and overall strong individual. I admire my grandmother for all the wonderful things she would say and do.  The most fierce,  strong willed woman I will ever know.  I am proud to tell the many stories of my grandmother and her works while she was with us. She will always be with me, I know this because she spoke about the many spiritual senses she had. A blissful woman who knew so much about the untangetable things. Anybody who knew her knew this about her.

Celebration of Life

She is survived by her children, Carol Linda Luebs, Jude Christine Payne, and David Miles Payne; daughter-in-law, Antoinette Jones; grandchildren, Lukas William Luebs, Amelia Anne Payne, and Melissa Anne Rusher; great-granddaughter Ariel Marie Payne; and her sister, Ms. Arlette Moore.
