

Lloyd Carmichael “Mickey” Williams, Sr., son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, passed away on July 1, 2019 in San Angelo, Texas, age 89. Mickey was born in Texarkana, Texas on August 28, 1929, to James David Williams and Louie Bates White.
Mickey graduated from Texarkana High School in 1946 where he played football before attending the University of Texas’ Business School in Austin, graduating in 1950. He was a member of the Acacia Fraternity and remained a Longhorn fan his entire life. Mickey met Edith Louise Fletcher while at the University of Texas and they married in 1952. They had three children and they were active in all areas of their children’s lives. They were members of the First Baptist Church of Austin and volunteered in Boy and Girl Scouting, Football and Band booster clubs and their children’s school PTA’s. Mickey and Edith were married 28 years.
Mickey began working with Carrier Air Conditioning in Houston, Texas and soon returned to Austin to work at Hall Level Manufacturing. In 1975 he purchased Holloway Oil Company and he was an independent oil and gas producer until he retired. Mickey was also a founding Director of Onion Creek National Bank.
In 1991, he married Nora Grace Collins and they shared 28 years together until Grace’s death on June 12, 2019. Mickey and Grace shared many happy years together traveling the world, as well as fishing and hunting closer to home.
He was preceded in death by his parents Dave and Louie; by his beloved uncles and mentors John Carmichael Williams, James Grey Holloway, lll, Francis Marion Holloway and William Ponder Holloway; by his brother James David Williams, Jr and his wife Mildred Lois Beidleman Williams; by his wives Edith and Grace; and by his children Linda Kay Williams and Lloyd Carmichael Williams, Jr. He is survived by his brother Thomas Newton Williams and his family, by his nephew Ronald David Williams and his family, and by his daughter, Jena Louise Williams Clark, her husband Bernard Francis Clark, Jr and their three children Bernard Francis Clark, IV, Kristin Nicole Clark and Emma Louise Clark.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 10-12 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas 78705. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Texarkana, Texas, Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 1:30.
