Louis Nathaniel Meeks, Jr., was born on February 11, 1964, in Austin, TX, to Louis Nathaniel Meeks, Sr., and Barbara Meeks-White-Burleson. Louis was the only son born to this union. Louis was given the nickname “Pink” due to his light skin color as a baby. As a child, Pink grew up in Austin, TX, and attended Zion Hill MBC, where he was baptized and accepted Christ as his Savior as a child. Pink also attended Lyndon Baines Johnson High School.
Pink enjoyed cooking in the kitchen; eventually he explored his love for food and decided to attend culinary school. Pink then acquired a certification to become a chef. He worked for fast food chains, restaurants and hospitals. Pink enjoyed traveling and lived in Delaware, Seattle Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii. Upon returning home, he became a certified security guard. Pink spent time reading his bible, joined a bible study group and was active in his reading and asking questions. Pink loved movies, reading a variety of genres, and playing video games. Pink’s all-time favorite hobby was his love for collecting comic books. His most favorite book was, “Lord of The Rings,” and his favorite movie and cartoon was, “X-Men.” Pink’s favorite fictional character was Wolverine. He loved saying, “I think it’s so cool to rejuvenate and never die and ‘that’s my story!’” Pink was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy fan and loved the “Boys” whether they were winning or losing! He was loved by his family and friends, and known to keep others laughing.
Louis Nathaniel Meeks, Jr., was preceded in death by both parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three sisters from the Austin area, Dr. Patricia A. Alford, Janet F. Peel (Anthony) and Carol Spence (Johnny); cousin/brother, Marvin (Sandra) Calhoun and Oran Sorrells; a loving aunt, Evangelist Sarah Loreathe Butler (Delaware); nephews and nieces who helped care for him, LaTasha, Tesshia (Matthew), Larry, Emzy, Anthony, Jessica, Jasmine, Janay, Joseph (Cierra), Christopher (Amber), James, and Orinthian; and many other family members on the biological father side of his father, Louis Meeks.
