

Dad served in the military from 1952-1954, during the Korean War. Always the hard worker, dad provided for his family by working numerous jobs until he began his own wrecker service. Dad reluctantly retired at aged 70.
In 1956, Mariana Rodriquez and Dad married. Together they had four children. In the years to follow there would be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dad’s favorite past time was watching wrestling and Westerns. In is younger years, he loved to go horseback riding. Dad enjoyed Mexican food, BBQ, oatmeal cookies, gambling trips and teasing his grandchildren!
Dad was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mariana, his parents, a sister and two brothers. He is survived by Lupe, Jr. and wife Tammy; Michael; Deborah and husband Lolo; Paul and wife Sandra; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Morris; two sisters Amelia and Christina; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family on Thursday, the 15th of March, from five o’clock in the evening until seven o’clock in the evening at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas, 78752, with the reciting of the rosary at seven o’clock in the evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, the 16th of March at 10:30 o’clock in the morning at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
