

Manuel (Manny) Mosqueda Carmona, age 98, of Austin Texas, was called by our heavenly father on January 16,2024. He was born on November 13, 1925, in Austin, Texas to the late Joe G. Carmona Sr. and Candelaria Mosqueda Carmona and Brother Joe Carmona Jr (Virginia Carmona); and Sister Margaret Carmona Samora (Johnny Samora).
Manuel was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. His departure is leaving us with a heavy heart. He will be truly missed by his family, extended family, and friends. “There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart.”
Manuel was a proud Veteran who served our Country in the Armed Forces and Active Reserve. He served in World War II (1-14-1944 to 5-25-1946) Korean War (10-17-50 to 9-10-1951). He was Honorably Discharged (5-25- 1946 and 9-10-1951). He shared many experiences while he was in Germany: he crossed and was posted by the Siegfried Line, other assignments were in Frankfurt, Wetzlar, Sourbrook, Limburg Germany and Hampton England, he traveled on the Queen Mary when servicing. He was a firearm trainer- assembly and disassembly, he maintained and repaired firearms. “Veterans know better than anyone else the price of freedom, for they’ve suffered the scars of war. We can offer them no better tribute than to protect what they have won for us.”
Manuel’s/His career led him to various opportunities: Abel Stationary, Tex-Pack DBA-Mistletoe Express, Schepps Dairy, White Pharmacy and at the age of 83 he retired from Austin Independent School District after 22 years of service.
Manuel enjoyed living life to the fullest. He found joy in spending time with his family and friends. He was a loyal fan to the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboy. He enjoyed listening to music, spending time with his family & friends dining and dancing. He had a special trade as a mechanic, and he loved homemade Mexican food.
Manuel is survived by Deborah (Debbie) Carmona (Daughter), Chris Villareal (Son), Jessica Villareal (Granddaughter), Niece and Nephew Mary Alice Quiroz (Jose Landin), Rudy Carmona (Mary Ann), other family members, Linda Carmona Krolczyk, Dilan Peterson, Monica Limon (Wayne) & Family, Sylvia Rodriguez (Jerry) & Family, Nancy Munguia, Belinda Zamora, Michael Carmona & Family, Elizabeth Herrera & Family, Christine Longoria, Brandon Longoria & Family ,Kimberly Longoria & family, Sam Flores & family.

Visitation for Manuel will be held on January 31,2024 (Wednesday) from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM: with Recitation of the Holy Rosary from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Weed Corley Fish 2620 S. Congress Ave; Austin Texas 78704. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated February 1, 2024 (Thursday) from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cristo Rey Catholic at Church 2208 E. 2nd St. Austin, Texas 78702. A Committal service will occur at 9:45 AM on February 2, 2024 (Friday) at Fort Sam San Antonio National Cemetery 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78729.
