Marc Asper Lawrence left for heaven surrounded by loving family and friends on Thursday, March 19, 2015. Marc was born on June 9, 1950 in Chicago, Illinois, to John and Constance Lawrence. Not long after, the family moved to Austin, Texas where Marc remained for the rest of his life.
Marc graduated from Lanier High School in 1968 and went on to graduate with a business degree from the University of Texas. He began his insurance life with Southwestern Life, but eventually opened his own agency where he assisted numerous people with their insurance needs. Later, he would manage a vast array of properties owned by the family. In all aspects of his personal and business life, Marc treated everyone with dignity, compassion, and honesty.
Meeting Marc in heaven are his parents, Constance and John Lawrence, in-laws Sylvion and Andy Kivlin, grandparents Louise and Hans Asper and many other family and friends. Left behind to cherish many fond memories are his loving wife, Vicki Lawrence, beloved daughter, Tamera Lawrence, and his cherished son, Eric Lawrence and wife, Nichole. Most especially loved was Marc’s grandson, Landon Lawrence. Other family members grieving Marc’s passing are his devoted brother, Jack Lawrence, family members Pat and Don Leslie, cousins Jeffrey Asper and Richard Asper, and a host of great friends. It is believed that if all persons whose lives Marc touched got together, it would result in an overflow crowd at Royal Memorial Stadium.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff at both Seton Central and Central Texas Rehabilitation Center who lovingly and compassionately rendered care to Marc.
A visitation for Marc will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, March 23, 2015 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Tuesday March 24, 2015 at Kinney Avenue Christian Fellowship, 1801 Kinney Ave., Dr. Ken Baldwin and Pastor Paul Meyer officiating. Entombment will be immediately following at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park Mausoleum. Marc’s friends are cordially invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marc’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
