Margaret was a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin in 1938, with a B.B.A. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, Kappa Chapter. She continued to work tirelessly as an alumna, serving as President for a year during her membership. In 1941, she met and married T. J. J. set up his practice on Exposition Blvd. Daughter, Janice followed in 1946 and son, Tom arrived in 1952. Margaret was very active in her childrens education, serving in many PTA activities through the years. In addition, she served as past President of the Womens Auxiliary to the Travis County Medical Society and as National Chairman of the American Medical Association Education Research Fund. In the early years of Tarrytown, Casis Elementary School was opened and she worked diligently to get Exposition Boulevard paved. Margaret also served in the building of Tarrytown Methodist Church, which was in its infancy and continued to serve on many committees at the church as it grew into a cornerstone of Austin. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21st at Westminster Manors Harris Bell Hall followed by a reception in the Solarium from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 403 E. 15th Street, Austin, TX 78701.
