A native Texan, Margaret was born on August 31, 1950 to Sidney and Loveta Langford in San Angelo, Texas.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Jack Blair Evans; daughter, Katherine Blair Evans; sister, Georgia Ann Langford Clesi of Folsom, LA; and brother, Robert Sidney Langford of Cloudcroft, NM. She is also survived by extended family through marriage, including her mother-in-law, Doris Evans; Stan and Stana Evans, Sharon and John Grayum, Jimmy Evans and Kim Andersen, and her nieces and nephew. She also leaves behind her beloved corgi, Wren.
Jack and Margaret met when they both charted maps in a cartography office at the Bureau of Economic Geology. Years later, Margaret met Jack in San Francisco, who was returning from Asia with engagement and wedding rings from Hong Kong. After a Leap Day wedding in 1980, they traveled together; many times with daughter, Katie, to many places of interest in Europe, Asia, North and South America. Bruno Vendeville, Margaret’s dear friend, first introduced her to the “City of Lights” with a personalized tour during first visit there and it instantly became her favorite city. Margaret and Jack also visited their dear friend, Rainer Sanger, in Germany and Switzerland. Not to mention all the International friends met at various technical conferences around the world. Her greatest aspiration, delayed by the pandemic, was a return to her favorite city, Paris, France.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 pm with funeral services beginning at 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 15th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on North Lamar.
