Marion and Rey were married in 1965 after Rey swept her off her feet. They lived all over the country from Connecticut to Oklahoma and ended up in Texas. During their stay in Texas Rey took some work in Germany. This was great for Marion because she finally got to drive on the Autobahn. And did she drive! With her pedal to the medal Marion's sped to her hearts content with her top speed of 120 mph and a huge smile on her face.
"Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy" 1 Peter 1:8
“ Joy unspeakable and full of Glory”… When we think about Marion, we think of Joy. Marion always had a silly joke, a contagious laugh and could belt out a song in an instant.
Marion read Psalms 91 every day to her beloved Rey. She always sent him out the door and asked him to “Walk with the King”, which Rey does.
Marion served the many members of Grace Covenant Church in the capacity of the early morning coffee ministry for twenty years. Not many would willingly get up 3:00 A.M. for twenty years to serve, but that was Marion.
Marion was a faithful wife for 52 years, a great friend to so many, a servant, prayer intercessor and most importantly a FRIEND OF GOD!
Marion is survived by her beloved husband, Rey Cyr; siblings, Charlie Swiconek, Barbara Wier and husband, Frank, Shirley Swiconek, Peg Swiconek, Fill Swiconek, and Gin Bowcock and husband Steve; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Marion’s Life will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Grace Covenant Church, 9431 Jollyville Road, Austin, Texas, 78759 with Dr. Matt Cassidy officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions to be made in Marion’s memory to the United Service Organizations at www.USO.org or the Austin Disaster Relief Network at www.adrn.org.
