“How wonderful it is to be your friend and to benefit from your encompassing love and friendship. Through your effort, thought, and creativeness, you contribute so unselfishly to the lives of others who have the unique good fortune and opportunity to know you.” This was a quote from a friend.
Marjorie was born June 4, 1922 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Oliver Turner and Louise Peck. She married James “Hutch” Hutchison, May 12, 1945 in Norfolk, Virginia. They both grew up in Tahlequah, Oklahoma where they knew each other from grade school. They were married for 50 years until Hutch died in November, 1995. In those 50 years, they moved 35+ times and met hundreds of friends along the way. She loved the arts, antiques and parties. Marjorie was a lifelong PEO member, an avid bridge player, a superb world traveler.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters: Ann Prewett, and her husband David of Little Silver, N.J.; Barbara Bosserman and her husband Dennis of Austin, Texas; son Dr. James Hal Hutchison of Virginia; granddaughter, Morgan Ann Kennedy of Houston; grandson David Prewett and his wife Lisa of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandson Todd Prewett and his wife Amy of McLean, Virginia; and grandson Mark Prewett and his wife Kerrin of Garden City, New York; and four great grandchildren: Dawson and Brady Prewett, Jack and Katherine Prewett. She is survived, also, by her sister Beverly Watkins and her husband Bob of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; her sister in law Maxine Peck of Fort Worth, Texas; her brother-in-law, Jimmy Goodner of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews around the country.
Marjorie loved to help people, she loved people, and people loved her. She will be sadly missed by family and many friends.
