Marolyn June (Brown) Robertson passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2015. She was born in Rockdale, Texas on June 29, 1930 to Mason and Edith Brown. She spent her early years in Rockdale until the family moved to Houston when she was 12 years old. She graduated from Jeff Davis High School in Houston. On July 3, 1949 she married the love of her life, the late Kenneth Richard Robertson, Sr., and they were happily married for almost 64 years.
Marolyn was a loving homemaker, supporting her husband's career and helping to raise their two children. She was an active member of Central Christian Church, serving on many of the church committees, including the Board, Sewing Bees, Flutter Wheels, and her beloved Christian Women's Fellowship. She found deep joy in her family, a beautifully kept home, sewing crafts, and her church.
She is preceded in death by her husband and parents, and her brother, Harold Lee Brown. She is survived by her son Kenneth (Robin), daughter-in-law Farrell, granddaughter Kaylea Budd and her husband Nicholas, and granddaughter Reilly Robertson; her daughter Regina Ligon, son-in-law Reid, granddaughter Amanda McClennahan and her husband Asher, and grandson Tyler Ligon. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Dorothy Brown and niece Terri Brown.
Her family wants to thank the caring team at Hospice Austin who helped us with her care, especially Bella, Peggy, and Dr. Frellsen. We would also like to extend a very special thank you to her nurses Katie and Mudita who showed her such love and kindness. We could not have asked for a better team to help us through this time.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Central Christian Church on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10:30am, with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Central Christian Church's CWF College Scholarship Fund.
