

Mary Flores Diaz went to be with the Lord on October 15, 2015. Mary was married to Joe D. Diaz Sr. for 60 years. They lived in Austin, Texas where they raised their five children. She was 81 years old.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter, Dolores Lopez (David), son, Joe Jr (Denise), daughter, Esther Lafuente (Michael), daughter, Juanita Tavares and son, James; grandchildren, Joe Michael, Sarah, Adrianna, Christopher, James Anthony, Matthew, Marisa, Victoria; and great-granddaughter, Jaidyn; sisters, Lois Dzenowski (Chester), Nancy Villegas (Arturo), and Judy Limon (Martin).
Mary retired from Broyhill Furniture as a foreman, managing multiple divisions. In her late fifties Mary received her GED but wasn't satisfied until she earned her high school diploma at Huston-Tillotson. She then continued her education, having received certifications in secretarial administration and clinical nursing. Mary retired from Seton Central Hospital as a clinical nurse after 14 years of dedicated service.
Mary found her calling as a nurse and received personal fulfillment of helping patients, family, and friends in their time of need.
A Celebration of Life Service with visitation beginning at 6:00 pm, on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm.
A private graveside service held at a later date.
