
Mary Beth Brown Page Mary Beth Brown Page, 83, a long-time resident of Austin died at home peacefully on Thursday, October 21, 2004. Born August 17, 1921, in Troy, Texas, Mary Beth grew up and attended public schools in Austin. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School on Rio Grande in 1937. Mary Beth married Harold L. Page of Austin at Central Christian Church on December 15, 1938 and was married for 56 years before the death of her husband in 1995. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always active in all aspects of her childrens lives. It was her pleasure to serve her children in any way possible; including carpooling, being active in their schools PTA, attending sporting events and providing many, many meals for all her childrens friends. She never met a stranger and was always ready to talk about her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and her love of Austin. She was active in her church and a member of Central Christian Church for over 60 years. Over the years, she served as Deaconess, Elder, President of the Christian Womens Fellowship and many other roles in the church. Mary Beth was also very active in her community and was a member of the Seton Hospital Auxiliary for over 25 years and served as their President. She also was active in the Phi Gamma Delta Mothers Club at the University of Texas. After her children left home she volunteered as a docent at the LBJ Library for many years. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, William Wilder and Kibbie Curtis Brown; her brother and sister-in-law, C.A. and Marjorie Brown and her husband, Harold L. Page. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Patricia Payne; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Harold L. Page, Jr. and Wanda, William Holland Page and Lolla, Curtis Withers Page and Shelley; all of Austin; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Mary Beths life will be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at 11:00am at Central Christian Church, 12th and Guadalupe with Dr. James W.
